About Home Power Finder
We may earn commission if you buy through our links. It never changes our rankings. How we work with suppliers.
This is a one-person site. I started it because comparing power stations and solar kits was harder than it should be. Specifications were spread across makers' pages, half the reviews quoted American prices, and few people explained what a 1 kWh battery would actually keep going in a British power cut.
So the site does three things. It lists UK prices from the makers' own UK stores and big UK retailers, with the date we checked. It turns specifications into answers: hours of power-cut cover, whether it will boil a kettle, what a solar kit might save on your bill. And it keeps the rules for plug-in solar, which changed in August 2026, in everyday words with links to the government's own documents.
Right now we cover 31 power stations, 16 portable solar panels, 4 plug-in solar kits and 4 home solar batteries from 6 brands. Every figure has a dated source. Where a maker doesn't publish something, we say "not published" rather than guess.
What we don't do
We don't test products in a lab or claim to have used them. We don't take payment for rankings or placements. We aren't electricians, and nothing here is electrical advice: for anything that connects to your home's wiring, we point you to a qualified electrician.
How the site pays for itself
When you buy through some of our links, the retailer may pay us a small commission. It doesn't change the price you pay or the order we rank things in. How we score explains the method; How we work with suppliers covers the rest.
